Teach BIG, Home of The Writing Academy, is a public-facing brand owned and operated by The Writing Academy, LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“The Writing Academy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
The Writing Academy publishes the Teach BIG family of educational apps, including Teach BIG TEKS Companion, Academic Vocabulary Companion, and Sidekick.
This Privacy Policy applies to Teach BIG apps that link to this policy. Our apps are designed primarily for teachers and educators, and we design them to respect your privacy.
We do not collect personal data through the Teach BIG apps covered by this policy.
Our apps do not require you to create a Teach BIG account, register with us, or sign in to a Teach BIG service. We do not collect your name, email address, physical address, contacts, precise location, or other personal details through these apps.
We also do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs to collect information about how you use our apps.
Information you create or enter within an app, such as notes, observations, selections, preferences, or settings, is ordinarily stored locally on your device.
This information is not transmitted to or stored on The Writing Academy’s servers.
Deleting an app or deleting content within an app may remove locally stored information, subject to the features and storage behavior of your device and Apple’s operating system.
Certain Teach BIG apps may offer optional iCloud functionality, such as syncing content among devices associated with your Apple Account.
When an app uses iCloud, that information is stored and synchronized using Apple’s iCloud services associated with your Apple Account. The Writing Academy does not operate the iCloud service or store that content on our own servers.
Your use of iCloud is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
Some Teach BIG apps offer optional purchases, subscriptions, or paid features through Apple’s App Store.
Purchases are processed by Apple. The Writing Academy does not receive or store your payment card number, bank account information, or other payment-method credentials.
An app may receive information from Apple’s StoreKit services necessary to determine whether a purchase or subscription is active and to provide the features you purchased. We do not use this information to build advertising profiles or track you across apps or websites.
Apple handles App Store transactions according to Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.
Some Teach BIG apps can periodically check for and download new or updated educational content. This allows instructional libraries and other resources to be updated without requiring a complete app update through the App Store.
These content requests are used to deliver educational content to the app. We do not use them to create a user profile or track how you use the app.
Where an app provides a setting that allows automatic content updates to be disabled, you may turn that feature off within the app.
The Teach BIG apps covered by this policy do not contain third-party advertising.
We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs to monitor your activity.
We do not engage in cross-app or cross-site tracking for advertising purposes.
We do not sell personal information.
Because we do not collect personal information through these apps, we do not sell or disclose such information to advertisers or data brokers.
Our apps may use services provided by Apple that are necessary to provide Apple-platform functionality, such as the App Store, StoreKit, and iCloud.
Apple operates those services under its own terms and privacy policies.
We do not provide personal information collected by our apps to advertising networks, analytics providers, or other third parties because our apps do not collect such personal information.
Teach BIG apps are intended primarily for teachers, educators, and other adult users.
Our apps do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The apps covered by this policy are designed so that personal information from students is not required to use their educational features.
The Writing Academy does not maintain personal information collected from these apps on our servers because the apps covered by this policy do not collect such personal information.
Information stored locally on your device can generally be removed by deleting the applicable content or deleting the app, depending on the app’s functionality.
If an app uses iCloud, content stored through iCloud is associated with your Apple Account and is managed through Apple’s services and your Apple device or account settings.
Because we do not maintain an account or personal-data record for users of these apps, there is ordinarily no personal-data record on our servers for us to delete.
If you have a question about deletion or believe information has been provided to us in connection with one of our apps, you may contact us using the information below.
Because our apps do not require a Teach BIG account and do not collect personal information for advertising or analytics, there is no advertising or analytics consent to withdraw from us.
Depending on the particular app and Apple services you use, you may control:
Content-update settings within the app, where available;
iCloud synchronization through the app or your Apple device settings;
App Store subscriptions through your Apple Account settings; and
Locally stored content by deleting content within the app or removing the app from your device.

We may update this Privacy Policy if our apps, services, or privacy practices change.
When we make changes, we will update the Last updated date at the top of this page.
If a Teach BIG app begins handling information in a materially different way, we will update this policy or provide an app-specific privacy notice as appropriate.
